Why are you running?

William & Katie:

The two of us are running for Student Body President and Vice President because Miami has been so good to us.  We do not only want to make sure every student on campus has as good of an experience as we have, but we want them to have an even better experience. We feel that we can truly give that to them.

Maggie & Stuart:

We are running to ensure that every Miami student has the opportunity to find their fit at this amazing school and always have the chance to easily have their voice heard.

What is the main focus of your campaign?

William & Katie:

We want to ensure that the needs and concerns of students are being heard and acted upon by ASG.  We wish to use our leadership positions to give the student body a voice on campus and with administration.  Ultimately we serve the student body and want them to know we will be relentless in representing them.

Maggie & Stuart:

The main focus of our campaign is making sure that everyone throughout campus knows we are on their team. Every student organization and group throughout campus has their own specific needs and we want them to all know we have their issues and concerns at the forefront of our minds and platform at all times.

Why should the student body elect you?

William & Katie:

As we said above, we want the Miami Student Body to have the best 4 (or 5) years of their life and we want to make that possible for them.  In addition to that, we are so excited to have the opportunity to run for these positions, but we want the Student Body to remember that we are doing this for the 17,000 of them.

Maggie & Stuart:

The student body should elect us because of our passion for the students and our previous leadership experience. We will do everything we can to make sure all Miami students get the most out of their four years here. Experience and dedication are what sets us apart.

How do you plan to work with the administration?

William & Katie:

The reality of the situation is the ASG doesn’t have the power to do whatever they want.  Getting things done requires that we work with the administration, nothing will get done by “ordering” the administration around.  This is why we will treat administration as our partner, not our opposition.  However, we realize it is important to stand firm representing the issues students care about most, even if the administration does not completely agree.

Maggie & Stuart:

We want to combine our already established connections through ASG and IFC with new relationships we will make if elected to ensure that feasible solutions are implemented. We never want to talk AT administrators; we will always talk WITH them, guaranteeing an open line of communication to make sure that students and administrators are working together towards solutions that work for the entire school.

What does Love & Honor mean to you?

William & Katie:

Love and Honor means doing the best we can to help you be the best you can. We’re all so lucky to have the opportunity to go to this wonderful University and making the best of the experience, whether it be participating in athletics, Greek Life, Associated Student Government, and everything in between, is something we want every student to be a part of.

Maggie & Stuart:

Love & Honor isn’t easily defined because it’s something you have to live and feel for yourself. To Stu and I, Love & Honor encompasses the feelings every Miami student deserves to have about their time spent at Miami. Stu and I want every student to fall in love with their school, their classmates, and any experiences they have. We want them to walk across stage at graduation, feeling honored to have attended such a great school and cherish the community they have become a part of.
