ASG funding helps student organizations to enjoy experiences alongside Miami’s vibrant campus life by providing financial support.
1.1 - Check Your Eligibility: Student orgs must be recognized by the SEA and Student Life Office through Red Brick Rewards as Tier 1, 2, 3 or 4 to be eligible for ASG funding.
A. At least 80% of a student org’s members must be undergraduate students.
B. Student orgs that get money directly from Student Fees are ineligible.
C. Being eligible for funds does not guarantee that all requests will be approved.
1.2 - Submit a Funding Proposal: Student orgs must then submit the ASG Funding Proposal Google Form (located in the “REQUEST FUNDING” link above), which includes filling out the required Google Sheet template attached in the form.
A. Deadlines for submission will be determined by the Secretary of the Treasury.
B. Up to two club funding proposals can be approved per semester, plus an additional First 50 Days and/or Unity Event proposal.
1.3 - Committee Review: The ASG Funding Committee, responsible for distributing funds to recognized student orgs, will review and respond by email to each proposal within 10 academic days. Requests that violate the rules presented in Section 5: Rules and Prohibitions of the ASG Funding Guide may be denied.
1.4 Procurement: After a funding request has been approved, the responsibility to receive the funding is left to the student org. In order to receive this funding, orgs must follow the Workday procurement process outlined in the Canvas Treasurer Training and submit a spend authorization.

Clubs are eligible to request up to $300/person for a round trip flight. We require a quote (official estimate) to properly evaluate flight funding requests. Similarly, clubs are eligible to request hotel rooms at a rate up to $50 per person per night. We cannot fund AirBNB’s or similar housing services, and hotel requests require quotes.

Any three or more tiered organizations (meaning that you must be at least a RBR Tier 1 organization) can team up to host an event and request up to $12,000 for the event. If approved, the $12,000 does not deduct anything from the individual club tier limits. In order to apply, please visit the Google Form above, and click the “Unity Event” option instead of “Club Funding,” and the form will walk you through the rest of the process! All Unity Events require an in-person scheduled hearing with the Funding Committee.

Student organizations that go into debt will be subject to penalties as outlined in the funding rules. As a matter of practice, ASG does not pay off any debt accrued by student orgs.
